About Scott
Commitment to Strong Communities
As a longtime Ann Arbor resident, Scott has a deep commitment to public service and is an established part of the rich fabric of the local community. He will bring a wealth of experience, know-how and vision to the Ann Arbor City Council.
To date, Scott has maintained a 98 percent attendance record for his work with the City.
Below is a quick overview of Scott's civic involvement:
Ann Arbor Park Advisory Commission
Responsibilities include:
- Provides policy recommendations and financial oversight for 156 parks and natural areas that span 2056 acres across the city
- Co-authored resolution protecting natural areas and sensitive habitats - strongest in Ann Arbor Parks history
- Land Acquisition Committee - reviews potential new parkland for City, provides recommendations to City Council for acquisition
- Task Forces: Liaison to City Council, tracking Capital Improvement Projects
- Instrumental in the creation of our new Dog Parks and the proposed Skate Park
Ann Arbor Environmental Commission
Scott serves on two Council mandated committees:
- Commercial Recycling Implementation Committee
- Huron River Impoundment Management Project Committee
City Council Committee
Scott is a member of the 415 W. Washington Proposal Review Committee that is evaluating proposals for the purchase of a former maintenance facility and grounds by private developers.
Ann Arbor Park Steward
Scott serves as a member of four-person team that provides community relations, trail maintenance, invasive plant species control, animal habitat restoration and management of Volunteer Work Days for 93 acres of Natural Area and Preserve parkland.
Scott is a career Carpenter and lives with his wife Helen Bunch, a teacher at Pioneer High, in Ann Arbor's Lakewood neighborhood.
